Fork In The Road Music

I was reading the notes of a facebook friend recently and they were saying how they felt like they had no direction. They were off in college and seemed like they had no sense of where they needed to go next. Well I remember that feeling. I remember finishing my second year of school and thinking to myself what am I doing? Where am I going? Whose expectations am I living up to?
It was in remembering those times that, a few years later I wrote this poem. It helped me, maybe it can help someone else.

That’s OK By Me 1-6-1998
I don’t know where to go from here
but that’s ok by me.
I don’t know what will come my way
or what I soon will see.
I am not sure where I’ll be led
quite where the road will go
or what the new tomorrow brings
just what the next day holds.
I will not guess as to those things
I will not make those plans,
for someone else controls my dreams,
my future is in His hands.
All I can do is sit and wait
and trust and hope and pray.
Follow the path He sets before me
a little more each day.
He will lead me, he will show
the direction I must turn.
I must follow I must listen
patiently and learn.
I don’t know where to go from here
or what tomorrow I’ll see
But my Heavenly Father is in control
And that’s ok by me.
