Instrumental Reflection #14- Jennifer’s Bridal Entrance
Jan 18, 2010 Free Stuff, Instrumental Reflections
This past weekend I had the honor of playing for a friends wedding. This is the song that I wrote for the Bridal party to enter into. This recording is the actual live recording. If you listen in the background you can hear some shuffling feet when the grooms enter the room, and also at the end the pastor begins the service. The piano waits about 15 seconds before it starts.

Congratulations Jennifer and Austin. You are in my prayers as you begin your wonderful life together.

Instrumental Reflection #12- O Come O Come Emmanuel
Nov 13, 2009 Free Stuff, Instrumental Reflections, podcast
This week I am starting with the first of my Christmas instrumental reflections. My original plan was to have 8-10 of these done by Thanksgiving. With moving and other things, that has been pushed back a little bit. I do plan to get them out as soon as possible though, so keep listening. If you have a suggestion for a Christmas instrumental reflection send it in to me. I will choose one name, from those who leave suggestions, to send a CD with all the holiday instrumental reflections to when I am done.

Instrumental Reflections #10- Bridal Entrance and Podcast Test
Oct 28, 2009 Free Stuff, Instrumental Reflections, podcast
This past weekend I had the privilege of providing music for the wedding of one of my former youth. The really cool part is that I was given the challenge of providing original music for the ceremony. This is the original recording of what was chosen for the Bride’s Entrance.
Also, I am using this post to test out the podcasting of Instrumental Reflections. The podcast will include not only these instrumental reflections but also other items, thoughts, videos, interviews etc that I can capture and put up here. What do you think?
Oh.. and I haven’t forgotten about the Christmas Instrumental Reflections.. I promise they are coming soon.

Help Me Choose Christmas Instrumental Reflection
Oct 15, 2009 Free Stuff, Instrumental Reflections
I have very much enjoyed composing and posting the first 9 instrumental reflections I have shared with you. If you have been listening you know that some of the songs are original compositions, and some are original takes on old hymns. Most were chosen because they are my favorites, or say something to me, as I hope they have to you.
I thought it might be a good change though, to give you a chance to choose the instrumental reflections for Christmas. Over the next 6 weeks I plan to record 8-10 Christmas Hymn variations. I plan on writing them on Friday, so each week, from Monday-Thursday I’ll be taking suggestions. I will write a post on Monday asking for your ideas. Leave a comment on that post as to which hymn you think should be that weeks reflection and why. On Friday I’ll choose two and record them. If your’s is not chosen the first week be sure and suggest it the second week and so forth.
Each week I will also draw one name at random from those who entered. At the end of the recordings I will make a CD with the recordings and send them out to those winners.
Rule: Only one suggestion per person, per week. That way one person doesn’t just list all the Christmas songs ever written.
Ok.. sound good?

- It is Well With My Soul
by Horatio G Spafford - When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.- Refrain:
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
- Refrain:
- Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul. - My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul! - For me, be it Christ, be it Christ hence to live:
If Jordan above me shall roll,
No pang shall be mine, for in death as in life
Thou wilt whisper Thy peace to my soul. - But, Lord, ’tis for Thee, for Thy coming we wait,
The sky, not the grave, is our goal;
Oh, trump of the angel! Oh, voice of the Lord!
Blessed hope, blessed rest of my soul! - And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
Even so, it is well with my soul.

Two Ways to Get A Google Wave Nomination
Oct 1, 2009 Free Stuff, Media and Technology
Thursday when I received my Google Wave invite I did what came natural. I posted it up on twitter. What happened next suprised me. All of the sudden twitter and facebook I had about 45 responses from people asking for me to give them one of my invites. Some of the eager responders were my friends; others I had never even heard of.
So today I thought about how to use my invitations wisely. Since Google Wave is a collaborative tool I thought it best to find those with whom I share something in common and could collaborate; worship leaders, youth directors etc… I thought it would also be fun to give a few out randomly. So here it is.
First- Leave a comment on this post saying how you see Google Wave being a tool for ministry. How would you use it? What ways would it benifit different areas? I’ll choose 3 and send you an invite.
Second- Leave a review for “Unfailing Love” CD on Itunes, or Amazon.com . Then copy it and post it as a comment on the post entitled “Unfailing Love Cd Available. I’ll collect the names, choose 2 at random and send you an invite.
I will choose the winners on Monday morning at 9:00 a.m.
One more note.. I still have a few more to give away after that so you also can just ask me. Find me at the following

The 8th installment of Instrumental Reflections brings a piece that is perfect to play behind a prayer time, prayer walk or even to help you relax and go to sleep. I called it “Lazy” and it sound just like that. The song is about 3 minutes long but I looped it once. You should be able to loop it and have it play continuously in your MP3 player, or on the computer.
