I asked on my facebook page , if anyone had hymns they would like to hear me record as Instrumental Reflections. I have not done many this summer, but now that school is back, and things are settling down I have time to just sit and play.

For a while I have been posting instrumental reflections for you to listen to or use for altar times, personal devotions etc. Up to this point the only way to listen was by clicking the play button with in the post. I am glad to announce that I will be making the instrumental reflections downloadable through a site called volumMonster.com. Instrumental Reflection #24-One Year Anniversary

It was after recording the music played during a prayer walk one year ago at College UM ARMY, that I started posting instrumental reflections. Over the past year I managed to record and post twenty three different instrumental pieces.

Now we start year two where it began. This piece was one of several recorded during the prayer times at this year’s College UM ARMY camp. After worship I would sit and play for a while while people prayed. This is what happened.

The Reason Behind the New CD

I have been talking with several people about an idea I had for a new CD. For years people have asked me when I was going to do a piano CD. I have hesitated for a while, but the idea kept being brought up.

My wife suggested about a year ago that I do a CD of instrumental piano for several friends and family who were expecting at the time. Though it did not happen then, it was another reminder.

Well… now I am finally going to do it, and for a very good reason.

Meagan and I have started the process for adopting a child.

I am planning on traveling to several churches and leading a free night of worship and music all on piano. I’ll record everything and then take the best of the piano recordings, and compile them onto a CD. Then I’ll make physical and online copies available for purchase. A portion of the proceeds from the CD will go to a fund to help other families beginning the adoption process.

How can you help?

1. Pray- Pray for us as we begin this journey, pray for families considering adoption, pray for children waiting to be adopted, pray for this CD and what God has in store.

2. Host a night of worship- My goal is to line up 15 worship events. These can be large church services, youth groups, retreats, or even home groups. My goal is to finish recording by the end of August. There is no cost for the event, I am only asking for a love offering to help with travel expenses.

3. Help choose some of the songs- I would like to use some of my Instrumental Reflections. Take a chance and listen and then leave a comment, or email me and let me know which ones you would like to be on the CD

4. Buy a CD when they come out. I’ll let you know when.

I know there are many of you who have gone through or are going through process of adoption.

Instrumental Reflections #23 – Moving On

So much of my time is spent worrying about things that are in the past. Things that I may have done or said, that I have asked for forgiveness for, opportunities I have missed, but that I keep looking back and holding on to. I am not sure why, but this song kind of reminded me of what it is like to move forward, to move on.

What are those things in your life you need to stop dwelling, and move on?
As you listen to this, think of those things, and pray for God to help you move past the past, and onto what he has in store for your future.

Instrumental Reflection #22- The End of the Day

Our days are filled with so many different ups and downs. This song reminded me of all those different themes that run through our daily lives. It also reminds me that God is there to weave those themes into a beautiful melody.

Instrumental Reflection #21 – On a Hill

While I sat down to write this I had the words to the hymn “Old Rugged Cross” stuck in my head. The phrase “On a hill, on a hill far away, stood an old rugged cross, an old rugged cross” kept echoing in my head. That rhythm became the recurring theme of this song.
