Instrumental Reflections #23 – Moving On

So much of my time is spent worrying about things that are in the past. Things that I may have done or said, that I have asked for forgiveness for, opportunities I have missed, but that I keep looking back and holding on to. I am not sure why, but this song kind of reminded me of what it is like to move forward, to move on.

What are those things in your life you need to stop dwelling, and move on?
As you listen to this, think of those things, and pray for God to help you move past the past, and onto what he has in store for your future.

“I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

Instrumental Reflection #22- The End of the Day

Our days are filled with so many different ups and downs. This song reminded me of all those different themes that run through our daily lives. It also reminds me that God is there to weave those themes into a beautiful melody.
What do you need to do to let God make a beautiful song out of your day today?

Worship Leading Conversations #1- Working With Youth Worship Teams

The first of my Worship Leading Conversastions podcast series started this week. I sat down with my friend Jason Huffman, a youth director in Palestine, Texas. As part of his youth director duties, he leads the youth praise band. I asked him to share some of his thoughts about working with youth and how to go about teaching them, and encouraging them to become worship leaders.

Instrumental Reflection #12- O Come O Come Emmanuel

Christmasreflections3This week I am starting with the first of my Christmas instrumental reflections. My original plan was to have 8-10 of these done by Thanksgiving. With moving and other things, that has been pushed back a little bit. I do plan to get them out as soon as possible though, so keep listening. If you have a suggestion for a Christmas instrumental reflection send it in to me. I will choose one name, from those who leave suggestions, to send a CD with all the holiday instrumental reflections to when I am done.

Instrumental Reflections #10- Bridal Entrance and Podcast Test

This past weekend I had the privilege of providing music for the wedding of one of my former youth. The really cool part is that I was given the challenge of providing original music for the ceremony. This is the original recording of what was chosen for the Bride’s Entrance.

Also, I am using this post to test out the podcasting of Instrumental Reflections. The podcast will include not only these instrumental reflections but also other items, thoughts, videos, interviews etc that I can capture and put up here. What do you think?

Oh.. and I haven’t forgotten about the Christmas Instrumental Reflections.. I promise they are coming soon.
