The number of times used is first and then the title.

Sunday Setlist- 06/07/09

This week was a sad yet joyous one for our church. Our associate pastor Frank Coats has been appointed to a new church in Houston. Today was his last Sunday with us. One thing Frank is known for is wearing bowties. So this week many members showed their love by wearing bowties of their own. We are sad to see him leave but wish him the best.
Here were are songs this week.
Everywhere I Go-
Today is the Day-
Come Ye Sinners
Child of God
Power of Your Name

Yes I know I am almost a week late in posting this. Oh well.. maybe since I can’t be first, I’ll be last.
Last week we had special guests leading worship. It was our youth band. I am so honored to have the priviledge of working with this group of talented young musicians. They have worked hard all year to lead music during our youth program and for youth worship services. So when the opportunity arose for them to lead we let them have an opportunity to lead in our morning contemporary worship service. As I expected they did an awesome job.
Here were our songs:
One Way
Today is The Day
Counting on God
How Great is Our God
Blessed Be Your Name
You Never Let Go
We also took communion and had a new family join.
That’s what we sang. Check out what other churches did for their Sunday Setlists.

This was a good week at our Xperience Service. We had a full service, a new family joining, great message. Here are our songs.
Today is the Day - This was our first song from the CD of the same name to introduce. We used it as our opening song and since it was new they really didn’t sing along, but it got nice applause so I think they liked it. It was also my first time to play electric guitar in the service. I have always played acoustic but didn’t feel right doing acoustic guitar on this song.
Every Move I Make- Ok… this one might be out of our list for a while. Kind of fit the sermon for today so wee used it but I think a break from it will allow us to do it later. The version I originally learned is the one I linked to from one of my favorite groups, Smith Band who led music at Metro Bible Study in Houston for several years.
So Good- This has been a favorite in the service since before I was here.
Awaken Our Hearts- One of my favorites that has become favorites for others too. This is actually my first entry on the “Online Songwriters Showcase” I’d love feedback.
I Stand Amazed- We introduced this one late last year and it has become one that the congregation latches into and sings strongly. I don’t know why but it works. We used this for our invitation.
That’s what we sang. Check out what other churches did for their Sunday Setlists.

This past Sunday was an interesting one. I thought that the band and vocals sounded great, were tight and was over all an awesome Sunday. Unfortunately there were many other events this weekend that hindered our Sunday morning attendance. I do have to give props to our ladies who do the stage decorations each week. When I arrived at the church 3 years ago all we had was the black curtain background. This Easter will mark one full year of using colors in different ways to decorate the stage. They don’t really use elaborate props but have come up with a quick and easy system to add some color and a different focus depending on the week. Hopefully Ill put a post up next week showing how we do our stage.

This week at Williams Xperience service we had a great time of worship. Kerri was out so it was me and one other leading. The band was all here though and they were on. We started our rehearsal at 8:00 and went over not only our songs for worship but also introduced them to “Everlasting God.” They liked it so much they were ready to do it this morning at worship. We will do it in two weeks. I am glad that our new rehearsal schedule is working out so well.
Our songs today were the following:
Sing A Song- It was great to sing this along with our drummer. He does a great job playing and singing and his voice is suited for some of these Third Day songs.
Never Let Go- Our congregation has really latched on to this song. The driving beat and simple melody help, but maybe with circumstances in our lives today the words give so much comfort. God is always here.
Alleluia- This is one from my “Unfailing Love” album that the congregation seems to like. Although it is in 6/8 and recently I have noticed the congregation swaying back and forth when we do these. Once it was pointed out to me I can’t help but notice, and try not to get seasick.
He Reigns- I originally had Meet With Me scheduled but I thought we had done it too much recently, so I substituted this standby. The congregation knows it and sings well, and the band can do it with their eyes. It is definately one of those older songs that resonate.
We usually do 5 songs but this week our Liturgical Dancers did a great job dancing to “Identity”

Again it was a great Sunday. Our message this week was “Fishing and Following” brought by Pastor Danny Wayman. The music was awesome too, except I forgot where my capo went on “Jesus Messiah.” Luckily I was able to correct the problem.
Here are the songs.
Fork In the Road- I brought this to the band from my first CD. They do a great job with it.
Revive Us Again- A great redo if this old hymn.
Jesus Messiah- Except for me almost starting in the wrong key because of the capo, it went well
Flower in the Field- Kerri’s Song from her first CD.
Here I Am Lord- We did a quick redo of this hymn. Fit great with our topic of following Jesus
We also used this video about if the church marketed like starbucks.
And that’s just what we did this Sunday. Be sure and check out what others did on Fred McKinnon’s Sunday Setlist Worship Carnival #27

This was another good week at Williams Memorial UMC and the Xperience service. It was Communion Sunday for us and we also had a baptism during the service. So the church celebrated it’s newest member and the Lord’s supper all on the same morning.
Oh.. the sound problems were greatly reduced… actually had no problems at all this week. The guy who installs our stuff came by and set the squelch.. turns out that was the biggest problem. We also bought some padded room dividers and put them along the back of our room. We meet in a cafetorium style meeting room with flat walls and a concrete floor. So the dividers helped alot.
We were missing our keyboard player, and a few vocalists.. so the mix was different but it worked well.
Here are the songs with itunes links
My Savior Lives- This was the first time for us to try this song. We introduced it at the beginning of the service and will start working it into our set in future Sundays.
Meet With Me- This is just one of those songs for our congregation that I can start and they will sing and I can back away and listen to the congregation. I introduced it to them only 2 years ago.
I Stand Amazed- Two things about this song. Somehow it ended up during the offering (when everyone is sitting down) so It felt kinda weird singing I STAND Amazed while seated.. the other thing is we were confused as to whether we were ending on the 4 chord or the 1 chord… Oh well… it worked
Breathe- We did this with nothing but piano and vocal. Kerri sang great and I added a little harmony. We used this as our song during communion.
Our Great God- At my last church someone handed me a CD of some random tunes and this one was on there. From that point on I have LOVED this song. I introduced it to my current congregation during Christmas and used the words to the hymn Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night for the lyrics and then used the normal chorus. Worked awesome.
Oh.. since our liturgical reading included Psalm 139 we used this video from igniter media group.
And that’s just what we did this Sunday. Be sure and check out what others did on Fred McKinnon’s Sunday Setlist Worship Carnival #26
